On 22 July 2026, AMD and Anthropic announced a strategic partnership under which Anthropic plans to deploy up to 2 gigawatts of AMD Instinct MI450 Series GPUs in AMD Helios rackscale solutions, with deployment of the first gigawatt beginning in the first half of 2027. AMD says Anthropic will use Helios configurations featuring Instinct MI455X GPUs with EPYC “Venice” CPUs, Pensando networking and ROCm software, building on Anthropic’s existing use of Instinct MI355X GPUs. The companies also describe a multiyear engineering collaboration to use Claude to optimize workloads for AMD Instinct GPUs and accelerate ROCm development, alongside broad Claude adoption across AMD engineering and product teams.
