Google signs the EU AI Act Code of Practice on Transparency of AI-Generated Content

On 24 July 2026, Google announced it is signing the EU AI Act Code of Practice on Transparency of AI-Generated Content to support responsible AI use in Europe. The company says the step builds on its 2025 signing of the GPAI Code of Practice and aligns with work to accelerate the C2PA industry standard and AI transparency tools including SynthID watermarking. Google also notes partnerships with third-party AI labs — including Apple, ElevenLabs, Kakao, NVIDIA and OpenAI — to drive interoperable watermarking adoption using SynthID.
